Franchise Group COO discusses Restaurant Health, Food Delivery and Commodity Inputs (CART, DASH, DPZ, MCD, PZZA, WEN, WING) – Interest Form

On October 24th at 2:00 p.m. ET we are hosting a call on the Restaurant industry with Barry Dubin, co-founder and general partner of KBP Foods and KBP Brands, one of the largest restaurant franchise ownership groups in the United States. During our call we will be discussing the current health of the consumer, franchise growth for chains such as Wingstop, Domino’s and Papa John’s, the impact of commodity input prices including chicken wings and french fries as well as food delivery platforms like DoorDash and their value proposition as well as competitive dynamics among other topics.

Bio: Barry Dubin is co-founder and general partner of KBP Foods and KBP Brands, one of the largest restaurant franchise ownership groups in the United States. The firm, based in Overland Park, KS, operates more than 1,000 KFC, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut rooftops (YUM! Brands) across the country. The company employs 15,000+ workers across 25 states. 

Mr. Dubin is a general partner/owner of KBP and is responsible for capital partner development and management, franchisor relations, and M&A.

Prior to joining KBP, Barry served as the COO of an $80M window fabricator focusing on turnaround operations, marketing, and business development. Barry was also a Capital Provider in Private Equity Transactions for Merrill Lynch Capital and has also worked in Corporate Restructuring Advisory for Arthur Andersen. Mr. Dubin has a B.S. in Accounting, Finance and International Business from Indiana University and a MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

Due to KBP’s outsized role in the YUM brands franchise network, Mr. Dubin will not provide granular financial commentary on YUM! Brands. He can provide insights, opinion and analysis on a variety of other QSR operators, including WingStop (WING), Domino’s Pizza (DPZ), Papa John’s International (PZZA), Darden Restaurants (DRI), Wendy’s (WEN), and McDonald’s (MCD). 

Mr. Dubin also has an informed view on the digital food delivery business, including opinions of the delivery aggregators DoorDash (DASH) and Instacart (CART), and the evolving delivery strategies of various QSR operators.

He can also discuss chicken supply, demand and pricing, QSR labor regulation, worker retention, food inflation, and trends in restaurant franchising
